About

Kimberly Chu, LCSW, DCSW has been in full-time clinical practice for nearly twenty years. She has worked with adults, children and adolescents in psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, couples therapy, parent guidance, family therapy and groups in both Spanish and English.

Ms. Chu is a faculty member of The Institute for Psychoanalytic Education Affiliated with NYU School of Medicine (formerly known as The Psychoanalytic Institute Affiliated with NYU School of Medicine). She has been a lecturer and clinical supervisor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and has been a bilingual social worker, social work instructor, supervisor and faculty advisor. Ms. Chu has been a psychological consultant in NYC public and private schools and is a contributor to Clinical Guidelines for the Management of Disorders of Sexual Development in Childhood and the accompanying Handbook for Parents. Having been active on a number of committees, she created and chaired a subcommittee that promoted collaboration and understanding between mental health professionals, school staff and families in New York City. Ms. Chu has been an educator on diversity issues and specializes in a number of areas related to identity and difficulties in childhood.
